Welcome

The Phylloxera and Grape Industry Board of South Australia (PGIBSA) is committed to protecting South Australian vineyards from phylloxera and providing effective pest and disease management policies and information to industry and government. It is the only body of its type in the world established specifically to deal with phylloxera.

PGIBSA derives its functions and powers from the Phylloxera and Grape Industry Act (1995)  and is responsible to the South Australian Parliament through the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, Hon Gail Gago, MLC.

Report a threat

Quick reporting is the key to preventing a major outbreak of a pest or disease that could seriously affect our winegrape industry. If you wish to report any suspicious or unusual-looking pest or disease symptom, or any activity that you think contravenes South Australian quarantine laws, please phone the Emergency Plant Pest Hotline on 1800 084 881. Calls to the hotline are free (except from mobiles).
